The Ruby Distribution to Beat
Fullstaq Ruby is an MRI-based Ruby distribution optimized for server production use cases. It is compiled with the Jemalloc and malloc_trim patches, allowing lower memory usage and higher performance.
We supply binaries (DEBs, RPMs) so that you don’t have to compile Ruby from source, and you can easily keep Ruby security-patched.

Fullstaq Ruby Keeps You Sane
Fullstaq Ruby came about for two reasons. The first is that Ruby uses way too much memory. While some developers may be hesitant to adopt Jemalloc to fix that, we are not. We are opinionated and prefer a progressive approach. That is why Fullstaq Ruby does not care about non-server use cases.
The other reason is our and your sanity. Installing the Ruby version you want, and keeping it security-patched, is a miserable, miserable experience. Fullstaq Ruby is easy to install because it combines native OS packages and Rbenv.
“My vision is that Fullstaq Ruby becomes an officially blessed external project.”

An Open-Source Project to Count On
Fullstaq Ruby is fully open-source. Now and forever. We’re committed to that. We want everyone to benefit from Fullstaq Ruby. We make that happen by closely collaborating with the community and by making Fullstaq Ruby maintainable by anyone. We envision that anybody should be able to understand how Fullstaq Ruby works, contribute to it, fork Fullstaq Ruby, and have a say in its future direction.
Thoughts on Fullstaq Ruby? We’d love to hear from you.
